I had a good weekend detecting. I recovered the following coins: 1941 quarter, 1962 quarter, 1959 dime, 1937 (D) penny, 1942 (D) penny, 1944 penny, 1946 penny, 1954 penny, 1955 (D) penny, 2 1957 (D) pennies, 3 1959 pennies, 1962 (D) penny, 2 1963 (D) pennies, & 1964 penny.
Also recovered a sterling silver ring with (what I assume is a) fake stone, a cool looking skeleton key, some sort of fired lead bullet, a Cub Scout Webelos neckerchief slide and (what I believe to be) an old lipstick tube. One mystery object is a lead blob (in the top left corner of the photo) with a an iron nail protruding through it.

Do a "streak test" on that "glob" to see what color on the streak turns out to be. It could possibly be a melted glob of silver ?? OR aluminum ...........
I should have explained a "streak test"... on the back of a piece of unglazed tile rub your glob on it a lot to get a streak left on the tile and compare it to a KNOWN material for verification.

i would say you had a GREAT WEEKEND :) Thank you for sharing with us all

Upon further observation, I think you are right! I believe the "glob" to be aluminum as it isn't heavy enough to be lead. It looked like lead but definitely not heavy like lead. But I'm still wondering what the heck it is (or was)??

The metal blob with the nail in it is likely from a fire which melted aluminum cans thrown in it. The nail was also in the fire and the melted metal flowed and cooled around it.
The bullet is a fired rifled shotgun slug.

Thanks for the identifications!
