Had a really great time at the beach.. went am and pm for about 2 hours a day. Working on learning the GTI 2500. Found it works well in the dry sand with the belltone.. and goes quite deep. It would belltone and when I went to zero in on the target it almost always showed a D size at 12+ inches when I held the key down too long... could sweep again and get 2 to 4 inch readings where the coins were really located then it would revert to the 12+ inch thing. Not sure how to deal with that and the results were even more erratic when I went to shallow water and wet sand. Readings of 6 and 7 which should be gold... were dug and I found only a corroded quarter. Need some help from someone who has more experience with the unit..would be appreciated.
Pictures attached are of the week's finds... a little over $20... the pic shows the 2000+ in the first row, the 1990s in the second row all the way down to the 1940s. Oldest coin a 1941 Wheatie, a 1959D penny, a 10 cent French coin(2002). A number of matchbox cars were conficated by my grandsons.
