I submitted the story/find to Whites and they say that they're going to post it on their site and possibly include it in their "written material". I get $100 accessory certificate which I'll use for a Super 12"

I went to a jewelry store today and found a ring that was identical to the one I found...white gold, same setting, same size (1 carat total) and number of stones in the same exact configuration. Retail was $2,150 and it was on sale at 30% off for $1,500. Makes me feel a little better for spending all that money on detecting equipment

I took a vacation day from work today...really wanted to do some hunting (yeah, I know, I'm obsessed). I hunted the same huge soccer park that I've been hunting, but instead of using the Bigfoot and covering a lot of ground, I used my 8" DD on the DFX and concentrated on the high traffic areas. It paid off with my best ring to date. The diamond ring, cross and silver ring were all within 15 feet of each other and found within the first hour of the hunt. I hunted another 3 hours or so, but I guess the detecting gods thought I'd had enough.

14K White Gold Diamond Ring (9 diamonds) - 1.03 Carats
This cross is a mystery find. No hallmarks, the diamonds are not real, but it's heavy and rang up like a nickel. Probably junk, but very well made and quite a looker.
925 Silver German Cross ring...was smashed when I found it, but it straightened out easily.
