I joined a local metal detecting club last night and listened to new and old stories of hunting for coins and gold here in California. It was one of the members turn to have a show and tell and it was about gold he found in Fine Gold Creek. The creek has been panned and hunted for years and like the name, fine gold is about all you can find. Hunting between rocks he found what he thought was an old miners stash that was lost who knows when. In the crack was 5 ounces of nuggets in various sizes. :o Now you know that probably did not happen naturally so i agree an old miner lost it. He found this in the 70s and the jewelry made of it was very impressive. His story has made the old gold fever i had come right back. Have fun prospecting and you might find a pocket of found lost gold :icon_scratch:

I remember I lost that in that creek! Actually, I lost a 7.7 gram crystal nugget on big creek above pine flat while fishing. I can pin it down to a 2 square mi. area. >:(

2 square miles? I guess its good as gone :(

You never realize how big a square mile is till you lose something or how far 5 miles really are till you remember you but your digger on the rear bumper! :o

To go back or not to go back that is the real question Mr. Shakespear! :icon_jokercolor:
