....regarding yesterdays hunt. First the good news: I FOUND MY FIRST HALF DOLLAR (TWO actually!! )!! The bad news: They're both clad . Oh well. How often do you find a half dollar pocket spill (both were shallow, 1-1 1/2" and within 2 feet of each other)? Hit a city park from early am to mid afternoon. Took a lunch break, then headed to another park for more hunting with Pocket Spill until it got dark. A great day overall!! Finds included an Oldsmobile hood ornament ('70s maybe?); crushed bell that still rings; fired bullet w/ barrel marks on it; '84 Canadian cent, small silver ring w/ colored stone (marked sterling ); the 2 clad halves ('72D, '74); GM 50 million cars 1908-1954 token; toy car from the '40s or '50s maybe?; and 4 wheats ('35, '46D, '48D, '53D). Clad totals: 29 quarters, 30 dimes, 3 clad Jefferson nickels (includes 2 collectible ones '58D and '59D), and 83 cents (74 copper and 9 zinc) for a grand total of $11.23. If anyone can help id/date the toy car, I'd really appreciate it. Pics below. Enjoy!!
