Why is it people leave their Christmas lights on for so long? I guess I will never figure that one out.

Sluice

Sluice Box, maybe they're like me, too lazy to take 'em down! lol Growing up, we used to take them down on the 2nd day of January. I've taken down some of the decorations in my bedroom (where I spend most of my time); but still have some on the walls. I started to take them down yesterday, but never got around to it. I'll do it today, maybe.

And some of us are married to old Ukrainians. Can't take them down before Orthodox New Year's. :occasion14: But lots of people here leave them up until the end of January. The sun sets at 4:30PM, it's -40, and extra lights are pretty and cheerful. Also, I ain't going out there to remove them until we get a mild snap.

Okay, so I have some pink ones in the backyard that are up all summer.

Anyway - great pictures!

It's for the tourists, Sluice Box. Most of the lights in these pics will come down at the end of the month. However, lots of lighting stays up year round. At my house, no Christmas goes up til after Thanksgiving and it comes down right after Christmas. (OK, when I lived in Oklahoma, there were a couple of times I didn't take em down til maybe June.)
