The Nazi versions typically turned counter clockwise with the arms trailing so the left arm was up and the right arm was down.

GL I looked at a Swastik good luck symbol website and it says rotation can be either way. I have a Homesteaders Token i will post a pic of.

The Nazi use of the Swastika was I believe anyhow(could be wrong) placed at a 45 degree angle. You are right GL but I wonder what it was used for?

The aviator Matilde Moisant (1878–1964) wearing a swastika medallion in 1912. The symbol was popular as a good luck charm with early aviators. A swastika was also painted on the inside of the nosecone of the Spirit of St. Louis

You will also find them adourning the doors of many pre-WWII Buddhist Temples.
