MSN maps are good as well. I like the Birds Eye feature in some areas to get an side view.

Hi I tried playing with maps.live but I never got as clear pics or resolution as JG did above. I of course started around where I live and could not get the Bird's Eye feature to work either. I then tried some random locations in the U.S. but with the same results.

How do you get great pics like JG and how or when does the Bird's Eye feature become avail? Mine was always just grayed out and unclickable.

Thanks.

I guess they are available for US major cities. I am in Charlotte North Carolina.
Once you get to that area the birds eye should activate. I have used it for Pittsburgh, PA, Greenville, SC, parts of Cincinnati, Oh and Orlando, Fl.

What area are you in. I could check as well.
Based on your profile, it looks like the closest Birds eye is Mississauga and Toronto.

Thanks JG for looking. I found the same as you.... ah well. :-\

If you install google earth onto your computer it will give you some pretty good images. It will also give you the GPS coordinates

HEY JT!!!

If you like MSN maps, try FLASH EARTH, it uses data from multiple sources, covers more area and has GPS coordinates. When you leave the site and come back later, it brings you back to where you left off at.

Good Luck!

The problem I'm running into, is that Google Earth for a particular area (Santee Cooper Lakes) doesn't have a good picture, while the Live Maps does. GE has GPS, but I need to mark some areas that show up because the lakes were drawn down last winter.

Is there any way to overlay GE and LM in order to use GPS?

Santee Cooper, huh? My dad caught a 45lb. yellow catfish out of the ol' Santee Cooper in 1980 or so. It was bigger than I was at the time. In an aluminum john boat on a Zebco 202.

Just felt like sharing..... ;D
