Stopped by a local thrift in the morning and they were putting out jewelry jars! They had two priced at $99 and another for $30. They had several more jobs but I didn’t see anything more worth the prices. The two $99 jars had several pieces of silver(Silpada, Mexico/Taxco), 14k white gold double rope bracelet,14k gold earrings, and some small 14k necklaces. There was also a sterling and 18K Lagos Caviar heart pendant on sterling chain! There was enough to make a decent profit. Then I looked at the bottom of the $30 jar and saw a familiar looking clasp (Thanks Beachkid for the reminder) on what turned out to be a 22K gold link bracelet weighing about 15g!
I was happy with those purchases and decided to check out another GW I frequent but have been out of town for the last week. They had jars and the very first one I looked at was 2 days old and clear as day was a bracelet marked “AK 14K”. It weighs 11g. Also some large 18k Aurafin hoop earrings weighing 6 grams. Over the last two days, I’ve spent about $450 but have picked up about 50g in gold! Holy heck.....I rarely see jars and if I do its all plastic....amazing! Love that 22K color.

Where did you say you lived again? Wow!! What amazing stuff. Our goodwill is full of crap! The 22K bracelet is awesome! Of course so are the other ones! Absolutely amazing

Beachkid, I remembered that 22k piece you posted a few months ago and I saw the link in the bottom of the jar and that color had to be at least 18k! If Tnet got .001% Commission from the stuff we find because of learning from here...the moderators would be millionaires! Thanks Beachkid and Tnet!

Sweeeeet! Killer jars!

ugh. Now that's a jar. It has been years since I have found something so hefty. Great job!

Nice score congratulations! :occasion14:

I need the person that put that bag together to get a job at my local thrift store.

The worker enjoys jewelry and knows a little bit. Just enough to put good stuff in the jars and price them high enough for the store to meet their sales quota. And yet not enough knowledge to spot certain marks. They ask us all of the time “ Was the jar worth it?” And I say “ It was worth my money and a little profit”. I even buy some of the almost worthless jars so they can meet sales quota. GW wants all jewelry to go to their online sales and some managers try to meet their online sales goals without sacrificing their jewelry customer in store purchases.
