The Deus has become my favorite shallow water machine.

It rocks in the littered up surfline, when using FAST program.

Today we headed out to an old beach that gets hunted alot, except in the first 5 feet or so. Everyone must avoid that area because of all the crap that accumulates there. This was a different beach from my "iron" beach I usually hunt.

I was hitting wheaties and then a nice 1936 Buffalo showed up in my scoop. A few targets later I scooped 1902 V LIBERTY HEAD nickle.

Then I had a target that keep falling off or thru my scoop. I finally recovered it and it turned out to be a cool pin commemorating perfect attendance at a LIONS club 1954-1955

Walked over to the other end of the beach and the first target was a nice thick mans BENCHMARK 14K wedding band.

I hardly used my Etrac or Excalibur anymore since getting the Deus. Setting the Deus up for water was easy and it's been paying off.

Congrats! Do you remember the VDI on the ring?

Yes, you certainly tore it up today, congrats

Looks like a heavy ring nice coins the buffalo is nice mine are 90% dateless

Nice finds.

Thanks Guys!

When found, the ring rang up a 73 in the water and I just air tested now and it was a 72.

I was running FAST with iron audio @1 Reactivity @ 4.....this was a very stony hard bottom lake and all targets were shallow a most were mixed with iron.

The ring was by itself but not in the normal swim area.

To provide context since VDI can vary with operating frequency, need to know frequency you were using and whether you had ID NORM set to ON or OFF. Thanks.

Based on that VDI, I would guess you were using 18khz and/or had ID NORM set to ON.

You Sir, are correct. I was running FAST with only the changes that I mentioned.

Most of my coins were scooped with bolts, screws and nails. Sometimes 2 pieces of junk and a coin at the same time. I was very impressed with the machine.

The ring, it was one of the few items that was a clean find. If it wasn't for the fact that the ring was outside of the normal swim area, I am sure it would of been found before I did. There was no way anyone could of passed on it if their coil went over it ......unless you were just going for coins.

Toothpick,
Which coil were you using? Legacy or HF? Thanks!

Hi, The Legacy 9".

I just got the HF today and haven't really given it a good test.
