Good Day to Hunt

Any day detecting is a good day !!!

Got out to a new permission I've been trying to get for over a year.
Well he is selling the property and said hunt it before it sells.
It's a 1900 ranch house and I thought sure it would have some goodies in the ground.
Hunted around the house and near fields for around 5 hours.
NOT much to show for it.
Either they never had much or the yard was cleared at some point.

Found three Zincolns !
A Chinese Ch'ien Lung cash coin from 1736-1795
and a Rabies tag from the 60's

One thing that was noted was my buddy was running a 11"LF and I a 9"HF coil.
We were hunting under three crossing high voltage power lines and we could not get his Deus to stop chattering.

My HF coil ran quite as a mouse and hit any mid conductors hard.
But like I said in the beginning.. "It was a Great day to hunt"

The Chinese coin and the tag were worth it. Always a good day to hunt when you can.

I hit a similar vintage farm house and similarly did not find much. One interesting find was a Zincoln at 10” that was less than 3 years old. Based on depth, thought I was on to something. Lol.

I have both coils and have experienced exactly the same thing. I changed frequencies to minimize it.
