Wow, good score on that fiestaware! That's the color my wife saves. I like the box too, got one like t but with brown paint and I think yellow lettering.

Nice finds, I'd have picked up the rocket container in a heartbeat. it surprised me to find it selling on ebay for only $10 but I would just keep that one. the fiestaware looks like a good buy too, one of those pieces will make up for the whole set. is there any trick to buying fiestaware or do you just go all in? seems like certain pieces are hit or miss on ebay

I know nothing about Fiestaware except the name and its popularity. I picked up the one cup and seen the name on the bottom and started grabbing every piece I could find on the shelf. Cups were priced 4 for a dollar so at that price it was a no-brainer. Already have a bite on the rocket container @ $40 off of Craiglist.

My wife and I have purchased quite a bit of Fiestaware in the past. Age, color, and type of piece seem to be important factors in price. The atomic (there is uranium in the glaze pigment, I think) orange stuff does pretty well but is hard to find (we have never had any). We have also done well on serving pieces like water pitchers, coffee pots, and platters. We have sold some dinner plates and other common pieces but they didn't bring a lot of money - we still have some that we haven't been able to sell yet. I understand there is a dark green color that is very hard to find and sells for high prices but I have never found any of that color.

Nice find on the Fiesta.

What you have is called Post-86 Fiesta, meaning that it was made after 1986. It is lead free.

I believe the color that you have is Persimmon, which has been discontinued for some time now. The color could also be Tangerine, if the color of your pic is dark. Tangerine is still a current color.

The shakers are called 'Range Top shakers'.

The odd tray that you have is called a 'figure eight' tray. You are missing the cream and sugar set that goes with it...but it still has some value.

The small bowls look like 'fruit bowls' to me. Sometimes they are called a 'nappy bowl'.

Hope this helps!

frankendime,

Be careful with the Fiesta.

On a second look, you might have seconds from the Fiesta factory.

I noticed that the stack of bowls varies in color.

First quality Fiesta should have an even color in the glaze on all parts, and have no glaze skips, dark spots, etc. Of course, you could have a mix of first and second quality pieces, or all first quality, but it is hard to tell from the pics.

Just take great pictures for ebay, and be aware of anything that doesn't look like even glaze.
