Found this stuff in a quick 30 minute look at my favorite arrowhead hunting spot. I've probably found over 400 arrowheads at this place in the past 10 years all surface hunting. It's been a gold mine for small bird points and only produced 8-10 points over 2 1/2 inches but good none the less... The last pic is of an arrowhead I found a couple weeks ago, when I found it it was in three pieces and I superglued it back together.

awesome. love those little bird points

Nice artifacts. Any idea on age? The snapped base of that one would have been very nice.

The site was a very well used camp site it had been used for many centuries I'm sure. It's a camp mound built up about 10-15 feet higher than the rest of the surrounding area. You can actually see the area from which the Indians dug the dirt. I'm by far not an archaeology scholar but have a lifetime of experience surface hunting and have never duggit a single artifact but from what I've experienced through the years I would say that the site would date back between 600 and 1500 years at least. Who knows what I could find if I was the type to dig. The mound itself is probably close to a 1/4 mile long and the area which I have permission to hunt is about 250-300 yards long and it is on the lake front with the highest part of the mound. That is why I've been able to find so much through the years. Boats and natural waves causing the banks to erode. If you like pottery I could probably fill up a nice sized dump truck with shards of pottery I don't even begin to pick it up unless it has an unusual design or something significant about it.
