Did you find just that half?

The gag balls sometimes come with more powder/etc. that you can reload and use again to fool another friend.

The one I'm thinking of is like a salt and pepper shaker, only you hit the ball and all this powder comes out from the holes. Looks like smoke. So the idea is...the ball is smokin'. Get it?

I only found half. It was packed full of thick axle grease type black mud. :icon_scratch:

Hmmm...then there's the type of gag ball that no matter how you hit it, it swerves to the side.

Actually I have no idea what's inside them. But if it was weighted on one side that would affect how the ball rolls.

Tricia, I think you're correct. . . I seem to recall my brother using one like that on my father way back when.

That black stuff inside might be the iron or lead powder mixed with the grease to weight just one side of the ball.

The VW Golf came with a Golf Ball shifter knob in the early 80's. Maybe this is part of one? I'll try and find a pic of the older style, this is a newer version.
