Today wasn't really a day I would normally think to go out wading because it wasn't going to be a negative tide, and the wind was a steady 22-25mph. but I got a call from a detecting buddy that called and said the wind was causing very low water. I was out for a solid 3 hours and could have walked anywhere I wanted, the water was only up to my waist. I only left because it got dark. I found scrap brass, fishing sinkers some fired bullets and this 3.6Gr 14K ring marked "ArtCarved". the picture of the makers mark came out pretty good but really is hard to read even with a loop. the pistol is a cracker jack toy, I haven't found one in a long time, I have 3 others that are guns.

Nice finds :) Nice going and thanks for sharing with us

Good find on the gold ring.

A number of companies have owned the ‘ARTCARVED’ trademark, but registered at different times with a number of different stylings for the letters. In that styling, the mark was registered by ArtCarved Inc. of New York for ‘Jewelry for Personal Wear’ on 11 February 1964 and cancelled on 13 November 2004 after failure to renew.

The beach I found it is very local for me and I have friends that remember going there when they were kids. there were hundreds of summer bungalows in that area up until the late 60's then between storms and property being more valuable the beach area took a nosedive. it became a dumping area. I was able to go way out to find this ring, nobody has been out there in 50+ years so, the "artcarved" mark would make sense. Thanks for the background information.
