Hey Y'all...

Can anyone direct me to a website or published work where hallmarks are shown? I'm igg-nert about this, but interested.

I saw a full storage box of old silver flatware go for just $5 at a parking lot sale last weekend. (I was too late!) Might have been a score ~ wish I had immediately offered $10 (I overheard the transaction). Might have started a bidding war or fistfight, but didn't know if it was sterling or plated.

Anyhow, any points in the right direction are appreciated.

I appreciate the link ~~ in the favorites folder now.

Dunno about the silver.... the box was cherrywood, old and abused, heck, I'd have paid the $5 just for the box to refinish it, but the set was complete with all the serving utinsils included.

Oh well....

Thanks again.

Hey Robin :)
Like Dan said I would not be too upset.
over 99% of the time he is right and it was plated.
I see so many sets while going to garage sales and estate sales.
And, the real ones are out there but not very many.
Keep looking :) last summer I found 7 full sets though :tongue3:
I got one set with 71 pieces for $30 sold it for over a grand :headbang: :laughing9: :hello2:
So,they are out there.
Dan is great at helping if ya also need help shoot me a pm anytime.

Bluefin... Your words...

"I got one set with 71 pieces for $30 sold it for over a grand."

That's why I'm interested...

Thanks for the info folks, and the offers to help.
