Awesome finds! Congrats!

Well you’re definitely in an area where civil war activity was at, and possibly could have dropped that large cent. I don’t know how old it is, thought I saw 1818, but my eyes deceive me

Those are some nice coins and relics. Congrats!

Funny you should say that, the 1848 house across the street was the union headquarters for awhile here in new bern

Haha. Well I’ve dealt with enough civil war relics in fields, in towns that usually if there was a hint of activity around you’ll find something nearby. When my back, and leg can’t deal with climbing around mountainous rocky soil where the civil war relics are at up north of me, I go to the city where the front yards have super soft soil, and where they’ve torn the houses down, I’ve walked the yard where the grass was removed as well, and the Minie Balls were laying right on top of the ground, and a Indian Head laying on the ground as well. Altogether at one house I found 4 .58 cal Minie’s on top of the ground, and around 7-8 underground. I’ve found a few rare bullets in the next yard. Its 13 blocks where the original Fort Site is at still. Anytime there’s a building or house tore down in that area, even 13-14 blocks away I jump on it.

Nice finds! The silver haired lady item is a beaut! That large cent looks like it was hit by a slow moving bullet but it's still in pretty nice condition! Thanks for sharing!

You know you’re right, I just noticed it’s concave. You can clearly see the stress marks on the front of the coin where something has hit it from behind, causing the front to somewhat crack from the pressure, but not fully break through.

You really scored!! Nice variety of saves :icon_thumleft:

Holy moly what a hunt looks like a gold mine of goodies keep pulling that treasure outta there. Well done

LG cent hit by musketball ? my first was too - stupid me - I reflattened it - I was a kid
nice finds!
