We've had a lot of rain, so I decided to stick to some easy digs today. I dusted off my old Whites MXT and headed to a couple of playgrounds that are usually pretty good to me.

Let's just say I have a sore back ... I dug 110 coins total, including 34 quarters, one half-dollar, one dollar coin, and a couple of Ckuck-e-Cheese tokens.

As usual, I found all kinds of junk jewelry. I dug three rings, all junque (though one is solid copper).

But my best find was this little baby ...

I dug it under a piece of playground equipment. Gave a foil VDI (a solid, shallow 5). I knocked the chips away and saw it shining! I suspected it was gold, but couldn't confirm until I got home to my magnifier and saw the "10kt" on the post! Awesome!

Thanks for looking!

gold is gold ... nice find!

Cool little piece of gold, what does it weigh ?
Keep @ it and HH !!

Not much at all. It weighed in at just 0.2 grams of 10k. About $4.50 melt. But ... hey ... it goes in the pile. It all adds up!

Great find! How much clad did you end up with? Keep it up and HH

About $11 in clad. My back was sore. :) One of the tot lots at a particular elementary school is always an easy-dig clad honey hole. I pull $10-15 out of there every December/January. It's like the kids are sowing quarters for a harvest or something!
