Its been to hot to really do much detecting so I was going through some items I found this winter and cleaned what I thought was possibly modern/20th century item for holding hair back. It turned out to be gold plated and I see little remnants of teeth on the cross bar. I believe this is a sash buckle but it just doesn't seem too old to me. It was found at a site that had artifacts from early 18th through 19th century. Anyone have any ideas?

I would agree more recent with the Hatch mark back piece just my thoughts

Machine-made, stamped brass sash buckle, gold-plated, likely 1930s.
Dimensions are always helpful in identifying an item.

With the stamping the way it is, I would guess with Antiquarian, early 20th century. My mom had one like that in the 30's also.
