Catching up on some posts as it is cold and raining, Although just spoke to seeker and Timmy is out diggin. He is finding stuff si he will stay uot and keep getting wet. Seeker and I hit the woods on a Sunday to a area that was dected alot, well we did good anyway. One of the first hols we hit was kinda overgrown and no much area to detect because of that. Seeker dont care he will not leave any area without at least swinging the coil a few times, so we begin. I turn on the ole XLT and BAM a hit, dig er up and gold ring appears. Not sure if it is old Seeker seems to thing as it has no carrott markings but does have block script ML & CL insie the band. First gold, not a coin but a keeper anyway. One day in over three that Seeker didnt have the better find. Tough to go with Seeker he fnds everything, but none the less a great friend and helps improve my skills. Hope the pic comes out good for all to see.

Re: Golg Ring

Hey I need to take a nap...CANT SPELL GOLD!!!...sorry all

Re: Golg Ring

Nice. I bought a gold testing kit over the internet for about $35, and it's easy to check the purity. Now, all I need is to find some old, unmarked gold jewelry! Anyway, that's a nice big ring, congrats!

Its probably gold, melted down from scrap pieces to make a Sweet Heart Band,HH and congrats!!

That is what I like to see, Jeff. Seeker getting his butt kicked once in a while. ;D Especially with a find like that! :o

I'm glad that the XLT is working for you. :)

What the heck Jeff........don't get to excited about that gold ring you have there!!! lolol Thats the one Timmy's been looking for that fell off his finger hahahah (only Kidding).......and I appreciate the kind words about all the stuff I find out there in the field !!! But remember one thing I have been doing it alot longer than you have and have learned plenty from just plain old OJT........On the job training, being in the field and learning your machine , techniques and the places your hunting has plenty to do with anyones success.........Plus a little luck always helps!

Remember on thing !!! :)
