Got a tip and the contact info for a guy that lost his wedding band while working in the water at his lake house. He and his wife were digging/pulling out old wood pier posts next to they're newer pier. At some point he realized his gold wedding band had fallen off. The area is very weedy and has a marly clay-muck bottom, at least 6 inches deep and he said there was probably all kinds of metallic junk in the search area. He did pull most of the weeds from the search area and also used a 3" water pump to try and remove some of the mucky bottom layer. I was kinda worried with all the stepping around the area that the ring may have been pushed down beyond detector range.

Well, after a little less than ten minutes, having dug several lead sinkers, a beer can, a latch and a few ring sized pieces of aluminum tubing I got a nice tone on the excal. Scooped it up, busted up the clay/marl in the scoop and could then see a nice yellow gold ring in the bottom!

I had quickly set up my camera on the end of the pier, not too worried if I got good video or not...

Here it is:

As you can tell from the video, he was one happy camper!
