I already posted ring on today!s find. But here is an inscription I don't recognize. It says 14 with a crown symbol. I gather that 14 means 14 karats. But what does the crown symbol mean?

The crown means that it is "plated"... not solid gold, but base metal with a "skin" of gold on the outside.

That is a gold plated ring, AKA: costume jewelry.
