Gold Ring Hook

Howdy folks its been a while since my last post. I def need some help identifying the age period this ring could be from. Some guy looked at it and thought it could be 1600?s. I mean looks to be very old. Its not even marked. I know its gold but got to have it checked though.

I may be wrong (often am), but I thought that hook rings like that were a vintage-to-modern thing derived from traditional Caribbean hook bracelets. They?re still made today, particularly in the US Virgin islands, for tourist sale.

Casper had dug the bracelet version of your find.

A friend of mine got these made in bracelets for their wedding ring. I say that only to note the style of jewelry.

The soldering doesn’t jump out to be as being super old, but I’m not an expert.

Very cool find! Take it to a few more Gold smiths, and you will get a suitable answer.
