Hello Everyone, I found this signature Ring in a area where I have found many coins from 1900 - 1920. I think this ring was dropped around then. Problem is no marking on the inside except for a little tiny arrow. I think it is gold because no corrosion at all, which would be present if gold filled or plated. Anyone have any idea as to the arrow mark? Thanks.

I don't have a clue but thats a sweet looking ring!! I would take it to a jewler(sp?) and see if its real or not. I hope so for you! HH Tom

No, not a "U". Just a tiny arrow. Can see how small it is in the picture. Looks like a speck. With a magnifier, can see that it is a arrow.

It's definitely Gold, just go have it tested as to what Carat it is. Sweet ring, congrats.

Looks to be rose gold 10k, sorry the hallmark does not ring a bell.

The arrow is probably a maker's mark.
Take a look in here.

It's about silver hallmarks, but it does not make difference if it's silver or gold when looking for maker's mark.

Pozdrawiam Matejko

Uncas Mfg. Co. 1911 to present. Second design of makers mark was first used in the mid 20's.

Definately Gold! Real good diggs'....
Don't know on the mark.

Keep safe...

Keith

Thanks everyone. I don't think it is Uncas...I looked at the mark and it is just the arrow. No letter "U".
Anyone know what this type of ring would be called....initial ring?

You're looking for signet ring.

I am having the same problem. I have a gold ring that has no markings other than a small arrow on the inside band. If you happen to find out anything about it please let me know. My ring looks similar to your ring. They are beautiful signet rings.:hello:

Great find beautiful ring congrats! Hope you find out what the arrow stands for. Get it tested or get yourself a gold test kit, then you'll be able to test your finds.

Thank-you PBK. I found a ring with that hallmark & came at this thread via google.
