I got an email last week from someone who had lost their wedding band a couple of years ago. He had all but given up hope of ever finding it, but figured it might be worth a try to get in touch with someone with a metal detector. I replied back that he should give me a call. I asked him where he lost it and he told me it was at a soccer field when his son scored his first ever goal. He said the field was busy so we would have to go very early in the morning. Well, Saturday I had very early plans for my favorite park (left my house at 5:15 am). I was also busy Sunday. Yesterday morning I had a bit of time so I figured I would take a look. He said it was near the bleachers. Fortunately there was only one very small bleacher. It took me about 20 minutes to pop out a 14k gold wedding band. Wanting to make sure it was his, I gave him a quick call and asked him when he got married. He said June 20th, 1992. I replied I have your ring in my hand. He was shocked. He thought he would never see it again. It's fun when you get a chance to return something with such sentimental value.
