A dreary Memorial day morning brightened up with GOLD I was out metal detecting with the best hunting partner in the world - my mom - and I found a cool gold ring with a tiger's eye in it. Unfortunately the stone is cracked but it's still pretty cool! The band has been replaced as you can see by the color change and there are no hallmarks... it's pretty obviously real gold though My little CM PRO is still scoring gold )))

This is the first gold ring I ever dug that had a signal EXACTLY like a pulltab. DIG THOSE PULLTAB SIGNALS!!!!

I wonder why the older part of the ring is so much darker.

Nice find, does the ring have any markings inside the band or older part of the ring?

My guess it that the older part is either a different karet that the band, or that a different alloy metal was used to make the newer band the same karet.

nope I don't see any markings.

can't go wrong with gold!! nice un!!

That ring is sweet ! Congrats

I believe the difference in the hue of the gold is just as with raw gold, some has more copper so darker and some has more silver content so lighter and yes definitely dig the tabbies I actually save them to donate to our local childrens hospital.

Update: I took the ring to a jeweler and both parts of the ring test at 15k and 16k (seems a little weird). So it is 2 different purities of gold and probably different alloys as well as the difference in age. Overall I guess it's a 14k ring ^_^

I think the cracked stone adds character, I would wear it. Cool find.
