Hit the oceanfront today for low tide, Max was right behind and linking up soon after I arrived. Targets were few and there were 4-5 of us out there banging around. I seriously thought of just making it a quick on after hearing from a couple other pirates that they had already covered a few blocks and only had 1-2 tgts to show for their efforts. I thought, "great, another exercise spin". Of course that was until I got my first tgt! I was hunting open screen on the CTX and the first return rang in at 12.40. I thought ok, quarter, silver, something like that but then it quickly changed to a low tone and was a 12.03. It was deep 10-12", took a little digging but pulled a little 10K with some small ice. It looks as if there may have been other stones in in (around 12 or so) at one time but it doesn't really matter as the tester says "Thbbbbbbbttt" to them so most likely CZ's. Marked (and tested) 10K and is 1.5 grams, bigger than the last couple I have found this year. In the same spot I dug the copper bracelet and the stud earring, no marks and looks like a crapper (hoping that is fake as I lost it soon after getting home and cleaning up my kit!),same as the big BLING earring with more fake ice.

The IPhone 6 was a real SOB to get out of the drink. It was right in the wash, one of the other pirates was trying to dig it, said he was calling it quits after about 10 mins and many scoops and said have at it. I ran the CTX over it saw the signal was kind of a "mix" and figured it was sunglasses or a phone. It took me about 15-20 more minutes of me pushing it from one side of the hole to the other (which was now getting deeper and wider) till I was finally able to pull it out. It was in a "waterproof" case (ha, ha) but the water and sand was already inside. After getting home, I rinsed it real quick, dropped it in a bag of rice and will leave it in the sun or furnace room a few days and see if it still (doubtfully) works. Someone did say that even not working I may still get some $$ for it. (Gazelle says $50-$80 so that works!)

Thanks for looking and good luck all! #6 for me! Watch out OBN! I'm hot on your tail! LOL Yeah RIGHT! What's the count today buddy? 50? 100? I'll get there!

Nice assortment & congrats on your gold streak! :occasion16::occasion16::wav::occasion16::occasion16:

Once your Apple I-phone 6 is as dry as you can get it, you can take it to an Apple "Genius" store where they can test to see if it takes a charge or not. I dug Apple I-phone 5 in damp sand but protected by an excellent case so not very wet. Got what sand I could out of it & let it dry. The Apple "Genius" store got it going again! This one I'm going to give to a young relative, though I've managed to return 4 other cell phones which were surface finds. Happy Hunting! Andi

cool variety!, the phone is pretty neat, makes ya wonder what scatterbrain lost it lol!!! awesome ring too by the way!

Nice catch Doc on the Gold, good looking ring! Last year we could have cashed in bigtime on the phone, but I heard now they are not worth much at all if damaged...

Just a note about Gazelle. I have sent them several Iphones that were DOA from the wet sand. Nice $$$ for trash. BUT, before you send it in,
Check the internet for a site that you can check the serial numbers against the national 'Lost/Stolen" list. If someone had phone insurance and
reported it lost, it will appear on the list. Gazelle will keep it and donate the money to charity. I found this out the hard way.
I found 2 Iphone 5's last summer. One was listed , One not. I kept the listed one for parts ( screen, case, etc.) for my Iphone 5.

Thanks OBN! I went to the site and as long as it's not "blacklisted" (reported lost/stolen) I should get $50 for it! Prob more than the little gold rings I've been finding!
