Hello all I'm new and I have the urge to gold mine and make it work for some retirement. You Know enough to pay the mortgage. I live in the High Rockies eagle county Colorado. I hope to be encourage and inspired by all of you. I'm sure there are experts out there and I hope they can help me through the process. Ultimately I would like to have a claim, RV, ATV, Dog and a gun. work at it during the summer. This seems to me the best way to enjoy life with my wife. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum! Hope you can make those dreams come true. Not to discourage you but most people, even experienced Miners of all types (except commercial mine employees), never accomplish the goals you have outlined. I wish you the best of luck with your endeavors and hopefully others will have some advice to offer.

Welcome to the forums-congrats on the retirement
There's a heap full of knowledgable folks that share over on the gold forum.
Through the journey there will be a bit of blood, lots of sweat, and hopefully a tear of joy when you find it.
Enjoy the process, and the journey along side your partners.

goldilicious: Chances are you will have to do some serious dredging to meet your goals. I recommend Karl von Mueller's book on the subject. You may want to consider joining a prospecting club, or finding an experienced and successful miner you can partner with who will be a mentor.

Good luck to all,

The Old Bookaroo

Welcome from North Carolina!

Welcome to the forum from Oregon. I used to do a little light gold panning in local streams. Never found enough to make it worthwhile (except for the camping and good time out in the boonies). Good Luck!

For the last 13 years I have followed the experienced Freddy Dodge, Juan Ibarra aka Juano, Parker Schnabel, and countless other. Now it's time to take all of that know how and put it to the physical part. First step is excepting failure just as well as excepting Success. I figured that this forum was a necessary step to success as well. Looking for as much knowledge as I can get. Thanks your Awesome!
