Hi Alex!:icon_thumleft: Welcome back. I hope you and your family are well. I'm not sure of gold near there that you could get to but its not too far to some good spots. Good luck.

up 483 towards Isabella?

Alex, Tehachapi is essentialy void of gold. The Paiute Mts nearby ,howeve,r are a different story.Check out Claraville. Also Frasier Park area .

Thank you for all of the replies. I will try to go out to Randsburg with my dad. I'll post a pic of our gold if we go. I read about that 5 pound gold nugget. My mom said she's going to find an even bigger one but that is after she's done crying about all of the bugs. :-)
Good luck for all of your trips

Simply go to the State Division of Mines and Minerals-Now Dept of Conservation(sic sic sic) and seek the maps the Mines and Minerals of San Bernadino County and/or Mines and Minerals of Riverside County. Great footprint to who, what and where and there are also bulletins available on the cheap also to assist you in your hunt. Don't get too mad when the enviro fool who answers tries to tell you there is no more mining in california as all banned :censored:-John

Old maps of Canyons on the way to Randsburg

Hi Alex, I have these old maps of the Canyons on the way to Randsburg. You will probably need 4 wheel drive and high ground clearance to get up them. You will also need a dry washer also. Metal Det. won't work on placer unless you find a big nugget. I hope you can still get access up them. I was out there years ago. Good luck and let us know if you find anything.
