I found this in the woods near a river. Went out early morning before work. It was my first target. Sounded like a aluminum can. Figured i would get it out of the ground. I was surprised to see the watch. Rechecked the hole that's when the chain came out. The chain is plated. The watch is 14k. It's duber from around 1880. My friends wanted to know how it sounds. With the chain sounded bad. The watch by itself was a great single. I showed my friend who brought me there where I found it. He said he was in that

I can only imagine how heartbroken someone would have been, knowing they'd lost that watch.

Great find! :occasion14:

What am awesome find as well as a terrible loss for the guy that lost it.

Any inscriptions on the inside?

Not a vw. 1965 Chevy van. If you want to see it. Look up my classic car season 12 episode 19. Or cruising new England it's a show on nesn.

No inscriptions. You can tell it's hand engraved both sides a little different. There's a blank square on one side. The other side has a cabin in the square.

What an elegant looking watch! Takes you back in time, and I consider this a gift. No longer is it sitting in the ground, it's been re-surfaced for all to see. Good Stuff
