Gold on my mind.

A gold ring is my bucket list item for the summer. One of my sites I've pulled way too many coins, silver rings and pull tabs for there not to be a gold ring SOMEWHERE. However, the soils are soft and often saturated. My question is, do gold rings sink in the ground quicker than say, coins? What is the average depth of the gold rings you have found?
