Mystic is not in Nevada. It is in California. About an hour drive from Reno. A hundred plus years ago it was a simple rail stop to take on water and fuel. Most water and fuel stops on early rail lines had names. What you are interpreting as a parking lot is a safety pullout on Interstate 80. Another pullout is on the opposite site of the Interstate. There are a few structures across the river, but they are newer, and primarily rail related.

This area of California has gold. The nearby river saw suction dredging for several decades, and the nearby country has seen placer and lode mining for over 160 years. Yes, there is likely gold within 600 meters of the pullout in any direction. You will have to be more specific.

Time for more coffee.

You are absolutely right. I corrected the error. The place mentioned by me has hidden gold. Probably from the time of the "gold rush". Regards.
