Jeff-Gordon is just kidding you. He meant to say... Wow, congrats on your first nugget, and a heck of a nice one at that!

Never apologize, chicks hate that.

Congrats on a really nice find.

That's about $400, right?

Thanks guys! Not sure how much it would be worth, It is really red, which makes me think it has quite a bit of copper in it, which maybe decreases the value? I need to find someone to take it to, my "go to guy" died in May unfortunately, and I have yet to find another as knowledgeable. I'm not sure I would ever sell it anyhow... at most, I would make it into some jewelry!

IAZ , very nice find . How do you do on the sapphires? I swerve into couple of 'em from time to time.

Here is a smattering of sapphires that I usually find panning, these are what I was looking for when I found the nugget. I had heard of people finding small gold nuggets while mining for sapphires here, but never expected to find one myself! Don't be jealous Jeff! If you are ever out my way, send me a pm , and I will gladly take you with me panning! =)

That's a beautiful nugget, I Like the spongy texture. The rock it was deposited in must have been eroded or dissolved to give it that look. Congrats!

Nice chunk of gold, but me, I'm in love with the sapphires!
See a few 'rare' pinks and quite possibly a few cutters. :occasion14:
