I have this GM1000 and for the life of me I cannot get the protective cover to stay on it. Has anybody had good luck with installing it without maybe using super glue or electrical tape? It's the five inch coil. I got two of them already because I though the first one was maybe made incorrectly but that's not the case. The coil isn't terribly worn either, I can't imagine it being distorted already. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please throw them out here. I have this pet peeve with not keeping my coil on the ground, so I got the covers to help when I'm scrubbing the dirt.

You can buy double sided tape. There's different types, thickness also.

about 7 months back i got to looking at my gm1000 and realized that i lost the coil cover.

by the looks of it, was some time back.

I'm going to give the coil bottom a smear of epoxy. i did that with the coil cover of my 6000 and it works great.

if anyone finds a gm1000 coil cover in a wash here in AZ let me know;)

btw gorilla duct tape works good for keeping them on and will hold up.
the gold monster is a fantastic gold beeper. more than paid for its self many times over.

Hi. Neutral cure Silicone. Several dabs on the skid plate inside where it will meet the coil bottom. Hold in place with several clothes pegs till dry. Seal the edges with silicone all around to stop dirt and dust getting in. When using a tape, if using a tape with the Monster being super sensitive, pass the tape past the coil to make sure its neutral. On the very rare occasion people have reported tape causing a slight response.
Overall you want to keep dirt, dust and anything out of the space between the coil cover and coil. Some soils can be reactive and cause falsing when they get in and build up.
