I was sorting through a bag of buttons I acquired and ran across this little holed medallion. I ran it over the coil of my Makro Racer 2 and it reads a solid 53. It's slightly larger than a dime and smaller than a penny in diameter. No markings. Just the inscription. Any chance it might be gold? One can always hope.:hello:

It's almost certainly a love token, though I wouldn't know if it were manufactured to look like one or an authentic one. They were made from coins and generally had peoples initials on them. What's the size in mm?

Some examples.. https://www.google.com/search?q=gol...q5bVAhUJs1QKHXWqAY4Q_AUIBygC&biw=1252&bih=604

And to answer your question, yes if it is a genuine love token it could very well have been made from a gold coin. Are both sides consistent with color? Seems more yellow gold on one side from the pictures.
