Ideas on ID? Dated 1955, stamped (meaning one sided only, other side is negative of front), about 1/4" diameter and holed. Kinda got the heart a racing for a second, what you see is how it came out of ground approx 4 to 5 inches down. Oh, and I like to think its gold but could be a brass, bronze, etc.

Bud, I'd love to help, but never saw anything quite like that, and I grew up there. I'm sure one of the token guys will have the whole life history for you soon.

It seems to me that during the 50's that General Mills, Kellogg, or some other cereal company offered a promotional series of Cereal Premiums that depicted the Denomination Gold Coins of California. I have attached a photo of a small denominational gold piece for comparison, even though it isn't an exact match to yours.

From the size and the way it is holed, it could be a bracelet charm.

According to Wikipedia, in 1955 Pontiac came out with massive changes to it's lines including all new body styles and the introduction of a stock V-8 engine. Not only is the indian chief their emblem from that time, they also had the Chieftain line of autos and produced a number of tokens and such promoting it. Die cast models of the 1955 Pontiacs are pretty popular too. With a 1/4"diameter, I might start looking at the wooden bases of the models and see if there's an emblem attached there.

Finally, a logical coherent answer. Good point will check into those, thanks.
