So the girl walking to the Coinstar, with a set of keys caught my eye.
I asked her if I could clean out the dirt cup....”sure, I don’t care, it’s nasty” she said. Sweet!:laughing7:

So a hand full of small bolts, gum stuck coins, junk zirconias..... yeah, nasty.
But this on stuck out like a sore thumb.

While I could have posted this in Today’s finds, or Coinstar thread.....

I really want to know what the logo is.

Western Hemisphere surrounded by a laurel wreath? Also a dandy little emerald along the top.
Appears to have some age to it, well worn.

So I gather it’s a service pin of some sort, maybe a tie tack.

1/10 10 Kt..... so not a massive score, but better me having it than a trash can.

Anyone know this logo?

Dunno, Dave......it's a great save......maybe try Geo Gems with coins or tokens as search parameters.

I don't know why but it reminds me of a government or embassy type pin.

I’m leaning that way too....
But I find it hard to believe a Diplomat would be dumping loose change into a Grocery store coin counter.
This is so bizarre.

Looks like it could be one of the hundreds of different UN agency or committee pins. Not all show the entire world. But it is such a nice one that it may be a presentation or leadership pin and not some meeting participant pin. FAO maybe?

I can't find an exact match. I believe the color of the stone signifies some kind of merit or years of service in some of these pins.

I appreciate all y’all researching and trying to ID this pin.....
Agreed it’s a years of service pin of some sort.

I think it's a pin associated with the Pan American Games....In a lot of the vintage logos, it shows both North and South America. U.N. logos aren't confined to just North and South America...
