Found this nice little nugget in a quartz rock up here in VT, don’t do a lot of gold panning or anything like that so not sure on the value, also i’m not planing on breaking the rock but could there be more gold inside? Welcome from White Plains, New York. Have a jeweler do a "Specific Gravity" test to see what the weight of the gold is. That is a Beautiful "Specimen" and should be sold as it is. Value? Depends on the weight, and how you present it on ebay. To the right collector, hundreds. :skullflag:

Oh, and get someone with a gold detector to split what the two of you find! POUND that area!!!! :headbang:

Welcome. That is a beauty. Do NOT break it apart. It is worth several times the smelt value as a specimen. And be aware there is more nearby.

Thanks for the help i’ll definitely look in that area again! I’ll go to a jeweler and do the test!

Check the geological maps of your area but here is a key point. Since the gold is still embedded in the quartz, the original source, the motherlode is probably less than a mile away. Go for it!
