Gold in Arkansas?

I'm looking to get into prospecting and live in Western Arkansas. I have not been able to find much info on gold found in the state, much less about any permits or anything needed before looking for it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Big, you are living right in the heart of some of the richest gold bearing zones in AR. I know what I am talking about, because I was there awhile back looking at some real good gold property for an old farmer and his wife. That info is confidential of course.
However, I know a guy at Van Buren ya gotta meet that is really into AR gold and is learning a lot about it since I turned him onto it last May.

If you are referring to Art Corbit, unfortunately, he passed away. He was very knowledgeable though!
