Well, a couple weeks ago Mrs. Silver Stash told the tale of a 'crazy' CRHer walking downtown with $500 in dimes, $200 in nickels and $50 in pennies. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/coin-roll-hunting/318038-desperation-getting-coins.html

Well, this resulted in finding GOLD! I pulled a 1.6 grams 14k gold ring out of the penny bag! Nice! Other finds included 5 rosies, 1 war nickel and 1 buff. Also got about 25 wheaties and $12 in copper.

Just wanted to share! This is the first gold I've found CRH, I hoped to find a gold quarter eagle or something, and it may still happen. Stay in the hunt! - Jonathan ps might have a few diamond flecks on it too!

About 100 bucks worth of gold N-I-C-E !

Not quite 100$ Easy, gold is @ 1722 an oz, 1722 divided by 31.1 (Troy oz) = price per gram per 24k. 14k is 60% gold = about 33$ per gram, so its worth about 50$
Still an awesome find!

What drives me crazy is all the jewelry & silver coins and other coins being rejected or in the trash bins of coin counting machines. I have a teller pulling ASE's out of one machine, I commonly find silver in the reject tray, found a silver tiffany ring in a trash bin, and a gold ring in a bag, etc. I can't fathom the good stuff being dumped in the trash at the end of the day at the bank, at the coin carrier or being sniped!

Oh yes my bad I thought it was 24k. I always forget about the K with gold.
