The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is blaming alcohol for the near drowning of Richard A. Maynard, 61, of Gold Hill.At a little after 2 p.m. July 15, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a drowning in the Gold Hill Bridge area near the Gold Hill city limits.Maynard apparently had fallen into the Rogue River, and briefly traveled downstream. According to deputies and medical personal, the man was extremely intoxicated. He was pulled out of the water by a passerby and three dredge miners started CPR and were able to revive him.Maynard was transported to an area hospital to be checked out by medical personnel

great story!

see, if they would have banned dredging everywhere, that man may not have survived!

My thoughts zacty, that guy owes his life to those gold dredge'n nare-do-wells.
