The thrift stores are finally opening up around my neck of the woods. I hit several and found some great stuff. I was able to find a 10 karat gold pin for $20. It seem pretty heavy for 20 bucks and ended up being 2 g. Easy double my money. I then spied a large necklace with three fossilized shells. I noticed the clasp had one of those tags and sure enough it was marked 750. Only $18. They also had a nice pair of 14kt earrings for $8 which turned out to be a heafty 7g and a 2.5g 14kt gold tie pin for $4. And then headed to another one that was having a 50% off jewelry sale. This place has tons and tons of jewelry and spent two hours going through it. The best find was this 10 karat gold 1938 Honolulu golf tournament champion medal. It was marked a dollar so I got it for $.50. I also picked up this pendant that looks like high karat gold along with a large pearl and for genuine emeralds. It is unmarked but I am 95% sure it is gold. The emeralds are pretty good quality and you can clearly see the inclusion so they are real. One of the cooler finds was a vintage 1950s Univac computer lapel pin. I wouldn’t be surprised if that went for a pretty penny. I also picked up two Tiffany necklaces. One was a Picasso and one a Peritti. Also I got some really nice sterling silver pieces and a couple interesting Kremetz brooches. All were between $.50 and three dollars each. I also picked up two swatches. Got a 1996 irony chronograph $8 and a 2016 Mr Buggly $1. It felt so good to be out again.
