Gold Confiscation Follows Cash Confiscation in India

With us, they'll use currency controls and taxes.

Nobody will complain because they'll say they're only after "terrorists" and "rich" tax avoiders.

You are stretching it quite a bit. Never in history has the American government raided it's citizens' homes with the express intent to confiscate gold coin, bullion and/or gold jewelry.
 

The jap/us citizen internment camps and confiscations during ww2 was probably the closest to recent times. Their gold and money would have been taken but I doubt if they were actually "raided". Most were peaceful law abiding citizens from what I've read. They had no idea what the Democrats had in store for them at the time.
They lost much more than money if you ask me.
 

For over 40 years, I've always wondered why those AMERICAN citizens were sent to those CONCENTRATION camps, NOT internment camps. Sounds like some political correctness. I've seen old pictures of armed guards at those camps and those citizens were prisoners.

No, not raided the homes, just made you a criminal if you had worked hard your whole life, piled up some gold, and refused to hand it over.

A revolution sounds great in a crisis like this, but who are you going to shoot?

The local sheriff that is just doing his job?

The National Guard patrolling your streets after martial law is declared?

The fat cat banker, that played by the rules?

The Lawyers?.......hmmmmm

Our economy fails every so often, it was delayed with the massive bail outs, but it will happen.

14 trillion dollar debt, and a 590 billion dollar deficit for 2016, practically guarantees hard times ahead.
 

Very little ownership of gold here.
Revolution? We're too comfortable, even if they take everything and leave crumbs.
Why bother with gold when they own the printing press?

This "story" is being falsified as it spreads on some PM commentary sites. The truth is that the Indian gov said it will take the gold when the people owe money for taxes. They are not going to touch the gold owned by folks who are up to date on their taxes, etc. Govs all over do this with all types of property when people are delinquent on their taxes.

Just my opinion.

Here they would take your Home Your Land & the entire Contents of your Life,
then start selling till your Taxes & Fines are satisfied.

Gold would be just a part of it. Unless you were known for having lots of Gold.
Then they may start with that on Sale day :dontknow:
