gold colored chunk of metal

hello, I found this today , it was in the mucky/rocky shore of a bay here on long islands north shore at very low tide.

it is very gold in color and rings as a nickel on my dfx

I ran it across a piece of sand paper were it looks brighter
I know I probably didn't find a hunk of gold but what the heck is it then
its about 1 1/4 inch long,
any tests or anything I can do to check it??
