Too bad you don't have a pic of the other side. Liberty sure is crudely written. I think it's just a bad fake of a Liberty gold... maybe a $2.00 or whatever the small ones are. A token is always possible too.

One pic is such a tease! :) But not as much as digging something like that!

Judging by your fingerprint...that is a small coin. Like Ironpatch says though...the coin you have looks crude...a pic of the other side would speed things along.
But I believe this is what your coin is suppose to look like.

In good shape it's beautiful regardless of authenticity.
I requested more photos from him .

Any idea what type of site? Pretty strange to see something like that from an old site so I suspect it was the beach or a park?

Looks worse than the buckle I posted. Thing is, we do have real St. Gaudens' to compare to and it don't look very good. They did make some "Mini" coins for one of those places like the Franklin Mint. Maybe they were struck that poorly. They were, however, 14kt.

All he has to do is take it to any Pawn shop. They will tell him if it's gold on the spot.

I'd be willing to bet the Beijing mint snapped off a couple too. ;D

Hey Doc. It's fake. I just talked to the guy he had it tested. It was used in costume jewelry.

Congrats on the banner!

When you coming this way? Beans are cut. Went sat with Maggie and dug 9 civilian buttons and a bunch of iron. not very good.
They haven't plowed or disced.
but we can hit a few other spots along the way.
