This coin is from a friend of my dad's. My dad wasn't quite sure but I think he said his friends daughter found it in a shipwreck...I can find out more if it helps. Any ideas what it is? I also have some what appear to be bronze coins. I've done some reading about Roman coins but don't have the book with me...For some reason the coin looks familiar. Help!

Looks like a bronze Roman "Dupondius". Definitely not gold. Not sure of emperor though. Will try to find out for you. Looks 3rd century A.D.

Maximinus I Dupondius. Reverse type SALVS AVGVSTI (his photo has been flipped over so everything is backwards). RIC IV 65.
