Gold coin at boat launch?

I was getting my canoe out of my Jeep and looked down as I lifted it out and here is this round shiney coin sitting there. I picked it up and it looks to be gold with a silver casing around it. I went on e-bay and found one just like it but the one on e-bay has writing on the gold coin and mine has none. It is elizabeth the II 1996 with the polar bear on the back and on the silver back Canada 2 dollars. Please tell me what I found if you can and if it has any value? Thanks for your help and sorry I can't send you a pic other than the e-bay site I found.

It's a toonie! (I just recently learned what exactly a "toonie" was! lol) ;)
This particular coin is common to have errors, check this page and see if it does, it could be valuable!

Thanks a lot, thats exactly what it looks like. Not the kind of gold I was hoping for but it's a good start. A little gold is better than no gold.

since the one dollar coins have a loon on them they call their $1 and $2 coins - loonies and toonies. That's a fact not a joke. exanimo, ss

Probably not, we're not quite that insensitive. However, when the toonie came out it was known as 'the queen, with her bear behind'.
