Gold coast

Hi everyone

It just came to my knowledge that most of the medieval old coming into Europe came from west Africa - the goldcoast. I assume that plenty of ships have wrecked on the coast with precious cargoes. Does anybody know if there is a THer have succesfully worked these waters?

Africa's west coast is sailed quickly and your course is far from sight of land-keeping your boat is tough, imagine stopping to look around! Those shells that fit flare guns come in handy...
Seems like someone had a university project over there though I'm not sure what or which.
