My partner found this gold ring on the old farm we are hunting anyone ID the markings and or the band of corrosion on the center OD ?

I found a ring similar to that this past summer, a beautiful ring with nice hallmarks etc. Turned out to be gold plating over copper alloy and the same kind of green was on about 30% of the ring. So I'm thinking a copper alloy gold plated.

The band of green is the base metal of the ring. It is not solid gold as M d in guy wrote. Most of the times the indicator that the ring is plated is behind the K mark, here's a few gold plated rings in this junk:

Imo - theirs not enough info to call it Junk
are you sure its corrosion?
kind of looks like corrosion, but then again it looks like a coating of something

sutphin would rather have the box of junk rings that I posted as an example rather than finding horses shoes. That's what he meant.

I have a plated ring that actually has 14K stamped on it, half the plating is gone.....of course the half I saw first in the hole still had the plating on it. Upper left, zoom in and you can see the 14K, bottom of the ring still plated.
