In order to get my exercise in during this very long Minnesota winter, I've been walking the mall every day. And, to pass the time as I walk and also to feed my treasure hunting addiction, I look carefully for coins and other dropped things. Coins, especially penny's, are plentiful - since mid-January, when I first began keeping track, I have found at least a penny every single day, some days as much as 45 cents, other days a single penny, but every day something. Along with the coins, I've found a game token, three earrings (all junk) and a belly ring. Today, though, I found my first gold of the year with this Black Hills gold cross which was laying in a corner with the dust bunnies. Its about 1 inch long and .9 grams of 10k. Same cross on sale at one of the mall stores for $69, regularly $175.

I'd rather be outside hunting but til we melt and thaw, I'll keep hunting at the mall.

I do the same when I am in check out areas in the super market and such there are coins every where! Next time your at a drive up window look on the ground. People throwing coins all over the place, I guess it was only time before they started tossing around gold too. ::)

70 bucks for a piece of gold that size is ridiculous. Maybe you can sell it to them for half that, and laugh all the way to the bank!

nice gold find. I would dothe same here but the mall is 60 miles away so I just sit at home and watch TV...Matt
